The evidence of its current reach can be seen in the recent release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the latest installment that has already made history for the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA saga.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Triumphs and Celebrates with Gifts for Players
The latest adventure of Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga hit the shelves on January 26 with great success. Unlike the early entries in the series, this title had a simultaneous worldwide release.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth had the franchise's best PC debut in history. According to SteamDB data, it achieved a peak of 46,161 simultaneous players on the Valve platform, surpassing the previous record of 13,737 concurrent users set by the spin-off The Man Who Erased His Name in 2023.
For context, the 7th installment achieved a record of 9535 simultaneous players on Steam, while Yakuza 0, one of the franchise's most popular iterations, reached a historic peak of 8985 active users at the same time on PC.
The good news doesn't end here for Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga. SEGA reported that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has already shipped 1,000,000 units since its late January release. Thus, it became the fastest-selling entry in the series in history.
To celebrate this milestone, RGG Studio and SEGA will reward players with cool gifts. Specifically, they will add a set of t-shirts that players can obtain entirely for free in the game. It is expected that the cosmetic items will be delivered through an update, although the release date and other details are unknown.
The gift will include, at least, 4 t-shirts that players can equip to customize the game's protagonists. More information is likely to be provided by the developers in the coming days.
