Pocketpair faces a big challenge to maintain the success of its game

Palworld is a resounding success with over 19 million players on PC and Xbox. Its user numbers skyrocketed overnight and continue to grow, so Pocketpair has faced a few challenges in keeping its servers active and allowing so many users to play at once.

The studio recently revealed that it hasn't all been plain sailing, as server costs continue to rise, so they will have to pay a millionaire to keep the game active. Despite this, Pocketpair made a promise to its huge community.

Pocketpair will keep Palworld active despite costs

Takuro Mizobe, CEO of Pocketpair, posted a message on social networks that caught the attention of many gamers. In it he reveals that the costs to keep the game's servers active have skyrocketed over the past few days.

He joked about it and claimed that they may go bankrupt for paying the fees to keep the game active at all times. According to his message, the company has paid up to $478,000 USD to keep the servers active.

Faced with this, Chujo Hiroto, lead engineer at the studio, made a promise to players: whatever happens with the costs, they will not let the game sit idle. He stated that they are committed to the community and will do everything to make Palworld always available.

"Following the order to never let the service go down no matter what, we have prepared servers without regard to cost. We will continue to give our all to ensure that all players can enjoy to the fullest! $478,000...", Hiroto stated.

The community speculated on the figures and calculated that, should it be a monthly payment and continue to increase at the current rate, Pocketpair could invest up to $6 million to keep the servers of their hit game active for a year.
