Despite the secrecy surrounding Nintendo regarding its next console, many take for granted that it will be announced and released this year. Gradually, the noise around a 2024 launch grows louder, and the recognized company has just confirmed that the new console will arrive this year, even disclosing the specifications of its screen.
Hiroshi Hayase, an analyst at the specialized consulting firm in telecommunications, media, and technology Omdia, has just revealed to Bloomberg that the Japanese company is preparing to request a huge quantity of screens for its next console.

How big will the Nintendo Switch 2 screen be?
According to the analyst, LCD screens will be incorporated into the device, which aligns with previous reports and rumors, but the interesting part is that Hayase anticipated that the screen size would be 8 inches.
To put it into context, the Nintendo Switch Lite has a 5.5-inch screen, the Nintendo Switch has a 6.2-inch screen (the same size as the GamePad of Wii U), while the Nintendo Switch OLED screen measures 7 inches.
With that said, the screen of Nintendo's next console would be the largest in the history of its handheld consoles.
Hayase mentions that thanks to Nintendo's demand, the distribution of these types of screens, referred to as "entertainment screens," would double in 2024 and remain high in the coming years.
It is important to mention that annual forecasts are based on monitoring by companies that supply these types of screens. Bloomberg contacted Nintendo, but the company declined to comment on the matter.
In case you missed it: It seems almost certain that Nintendo's new console will have an LCD screen.
