Capcom developed Street Fighter 6 with a very high expectation. The months after its release slowly reveal that the title has been successful, but is it on the right path to meet the sales forecasts of the Japanese company?
The latest installment of Capcom's flagship fighting series debuted last June. In its first week on the market, Street Fighter 6 sold more than 1 million units worldwide, and the figure increased by another million the following month. Since then, the quantity had remained frozen, but today Capcom announced that after 7 months since the launch, their game has surpassed the 3 million copies sold mark (figure until January 3, 2024).
How many copies of Street Fighter 6 does Capcom predict to sell?
We remind you that Capcom expects Street Fighter 6 to surpass 10 million units sold in its lifecycle, and it seems we'll have to wait a few years to see if it achieves that.
It has already sold almost half of the units that Street Fighter V has sold in its almost 8-year lifecycle (7.4 million). This title surpassed 3 million units in February 2019, after being available for 3 years.
Considering this and the support that Capcom will continue to provide to Street Fighter 6 in the coming years, it doesn't seem unreasonable that the game will sell many more millions and surpass its predecessor to become not only Capcom's best-selling fighting game but also the best-selling fighting game in history.

To commemorate this achievement, Capcom shared cool artwork of Chun-Li and thanked players for their support in the past months.
"As Chun-Li told Ryu: 'The more I think about it, the more I feel that it was you who made me unleash my true strength,'" commented Capcom.
