Capcom has recently updated some of its older PC games in order to protect them with Enigma Protector, a DRM considered highly invasive. As expected, gamers were silent and raised their voices to show their disagreement.

They also review bombed the affected games on Steam. Faced with this, Capcom was not indifferent, so it decided to reverse its decision and remove the security system, at least from Resident Evil Revelations.

Just like Denuvo, Enigma Protector represents an obstacle and a problem for PC gamers, as it affects the performance of titles, limits the use of mods and even makes some games not work properly.

Because of this, the Steam community raised its voice and criticized Capcom for doing that with its older games. Fans of the studio also review bombed Resident Evil Revelations to express their displeasure with the decision.

"Due to an issue observed with the latest update released, we have reverted the corresponding update," Capcom explained upon seeing the community's complaints.

The point is that the company stated that it will resolve the problem and will re-release an update for the title. For now, it is unclear whether it plans to add Enigma Protector again at some point in the future.

On the other hand, the studio did not clarify whether all the recent problems with the game are due to the DRM system; however, players are convinced that this is the case. For this reason, the community hopes that Capcom will not re-release the update with Enigma Protector.
