During a chat with Deadline, Offerman discussed a possible prequel or spin-off to The Last of Us series focused on his character. Bill played an important role in the early episodes and became one of the iconic characters of the series for the episode "A Long, Long Time".

I reveal that a similar project has been proposed. The idea is a short series telling more about the lives of Bill and Frank. The action would take place before their meeting that was told in the main series. Offerman even suggested that the prequel could be a musical.

Oh, great question but I would have to ask somebody with a higher pay grade than myself. It certainly has been pitched. I think we pitched a whole mini-series of a prequel of their lives before they met each other. It could be a musical. We’re not short on ideas. We’ll just we’ll see what Craig and Neil come up with," stated the actor.

It is important to mention that HBO has not confirmed another production based on the popular PlayStation franchise. Currently, the company is working on the Season 2 episodes, which will take quite some time to arrive since it will be released until 2025.
