When will the Nintendo Switch 2 debut? Here's what 2 former Nintendo employees think
To start, Krysta Yang theorizes that the announcement of the new hardware could come in the next fiscal year, starting on April 1, 2024. She explains that the company could make the revelation to "stay really strong for its shareholders." Kit Ellis intervened and stated that currently, the company's management considers what its investors think and feel.
Therefore, Kit Ellis expects the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 to be released on September 1, 2024. Krysta Yang fears there may be stock issues at launch but is confident that they will be resolved before the next holiday shopping season.
Regarding the price, Yang believes that Nintendo's next console will cost around $400 USD. Both hosts theorize that it will be compatible with previous games and will be a hybrid hardware, meaning it can be connected to the TV and used in portable mode. In that regard, they believe it will be a very similar successor to the Switch but with "more power."
Kit Ellis suggests that Nintendo could release cheaper low-end versions of the console in an attempt to reach more players; however, Krysta Yang disagrees with that theory and thinks that releasing different models could confuse customers.
Finally, the former employees speculate that the Nintendo Switch 2 could have a new Mario Kart installment as a launch title. It's a very obvious bet, especially considering the constant success of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the hybrid console.
It is important to emphasize that this is mere speculation, so the details of Nintendo's next-gen hardware are unknown. Previously, an analyst predicted that the console will cost $400 USD, and games will be priced at $70 USD.
But tell us, when do you think the new hardware will be officially revealed? Let us know in the comments.
