Arkane Lyon's title could be cross-gen

One of the announcements that grabbed the spotlight at The Game Awards 2023 was undoubtedly Marvel’s Blade, the new project from Arkane Lyon of Bethesda. Despite high expectations, most details remain a mystery. With this in mind, a significant question arises: when will it debut?

The unexpected revelation of the new vampire hunter video game from the comic books excited players but also raised many questions that, unfortunately, still lack answers. While much of the discussion revolves around the possible exclusivity with Xbox ecosystems, the release date is another question hanging in the air.

In a press release, Bethesda stated that the project had just begun its development and shortly after shared cool concept art that gives us a glimpse of what the world will look like; however, a clue suggests that production started in January 2022.

Regardless, the release date remains a mystery. While waiting for more information, a reputable insider has disclosed the possible year when Marvel’s Blade will hit the shelves.

When Will Marvel’s Blade Debut? The Release Could Still Be Far Away

Journalist and insider Jeff Grubb, who has a considerable track record of accurate predictions, participated in the latest episode of The XboxEra Podcast. There, he revealed the possible release window for the Marvel-based video game.

According to the informant, Marvel’s Blade, the next project from the creators of the acclaimed Deathloop, will debut in 2027. Therefore, its release might be farther away than many fans anticipate.

"Right now, internally, they're hoping it sells on store shelves and digitally in 2027. That's the year they're aiming for, at least from what I know that Marvel has marked on their calendar. That means, at the earliest, it's 2027. Don't expect it to come before that," Jeff Grubb commented on the podcast.

The journalist speculates that it is highly likely the game will be available for both Xbox Series X|S and the next Microsoft hardware. Although he seems quite sure that the title will hit stores in 2027, his comment about the cross-gen release appears to be mere speculation based on the possible release window.

Interestingly, Jeff Grubb theorized earlier this week that the new Xbox console could debut in 2026. Again, he only speculated, and it remains uncertain when Microsoft's new platform will be available.

In any case, it's a mystery when Marvel’s Blade will arrive and on which platforms it will be available when it hits stores. We recommend taking this information with a grain of salt and waiting for Bethesda and Arkane Lyon to share more details.

But tell us, when do you think this project will arrive? Does it catch your interest? Let us know in the comments.
