Gameplay hours are a crucial factor for many people when deciding whether to purchase a title. If you prioritize extensive games and happen to be a fan of action role-playing games (ARPG), you won't want to miss Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, as it promises dozens of hours of gameplay.
Considering its predecessor, Final Fantasy VII Remake, it was expected that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth would include enough content to entertain for dozens and dozens of hours.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth could last over 100 hours
However, as we approach the release of the title, the developers are sharing more details about it, including its expected duration. Naoki Hamaguchi, the project director, revealed that completing the base game's campaign could easily take 40 hours of gameplay.
Secondary content will make up 80% of what Final Fantasy VII Rebirth offers in terms of exploration, so it's clear that those who want to complete the title will need to invest dozens of hours.
Hamaguchi estimated that players aiming to complete a substantial portion of the secondary content along with the main campaign should expect their playthrough to total around 60 hours.
However, the playthrough could reach 100 hours for the most dedicated players.
Naturally, this figure is remarkable considering that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is only the second part of the project that reinvented the story of the original 1996 title.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will have new cities
Square Enix reworked the story to expand it with much content not present in the original title. In fact, in the same interview with Eurogamer, the director revealed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will have "entirely new cities" like Crow's Nest.
According to the details, this addition was made in a way that encourages players to have a genuine interest in discovering these new places, as much of this content will be secondary and can be skipped.
