SIE Santa Monica Studio once again scored a success with God of War Ragnarök, which sold millions within a year. It is one of PlayStation's flagship franchises, and it appears that the creators are already sharing early hints of the next game.
Just a few days ago, the California-based developer released the free DLC Valhalla, which revitalized the gaming experience with new ways to play focused on roguelite combat. Many might think that this would be the end of Kratos' adventure, but a new clue suggests that it will continue.
Will God of War continue after Ragnarök and Valhalla?
We say this based on the message from the senior project writer, Orion Walker, who suggested that the DLC credits are far from being the end: "Do you really think the credits are the end of the story? Come on, come on," hinted the developer.
The message was a bit ambiguous, leading fans to speculate a lot about it. Naturally, many took this hint as a sign that there will be more God of War games.
It's important to remember that the Norse mythology saga in God of War was not conceived as a trilogy but could be covered in 2 games, so the next game in the series, whatever it may be, is likely set in another mythology.
God of War debuted in 2018, and God of War Ragnarök debuted in the second half of 2022, so the next hypothetical installment in the series is likely to be released until 2026 or later.
The only thing that could be taken for granted is that the title would be exclusive to PlayStation 5 or, why not, even make its way to PlayStation 6 as a cross-generational title.
