GTA VI hasn't debuted yet, but it has already broken a new record and made history

December will be a very special month for open-world game enthusiasts, as Rockstar Games will showcase the first official glimpse of the most anticipated game in recent years: Grand Theft Auto VI. Undoubtedly, excitement is palpable across all corners of the internet.

At the beginning of November, the development studio confirmed that it would unveil the first look at the next installment of the franchise in December. Without further ado, Rockstar Games confirmed this week that the official teaser for GTA VI will arrive on Tuesday, December 5th. The announcement is very minimalist, providing no additional information about the scale, setting, or narrative of the upcoming installment.

A simple image was enough to excite thousands of fans and make history on the social network. According to VGC, the post garnered more than 1.8 million likes within 24 hours, making it the most-liked gaming-related post in the platform's history.

At present, the post announcing the Grand Theft Auto VI revelation has accumulated over 148 million views and 486,000 retweets. As expected, the community has already started to ]try to uncover all the secrets hidden in the image.

It's curious that the top 3 most-liked video game posts in the history of Elon Musk's social network are related to GTA VI. In addition to this week's announcement and the November post, the third spot is occupied by the post where Rockstar Games acknowledged the leak that occurred in September 2022.

Fortunately, the wait is almost over, and we will soon learn the first official details. In the meantime, a recent leak revealed a video that shows the game map and provides more details about the release window.
