Avatar: The Last Airbender, known in Mexico and Latin America as Avatar: The Legend of Aang, captivated a generation upon its original release in 2005. Therefore, the community raised an eyebrow when Netflix announced that it would adapt this story into a live-action series. After years of anticipation, the first trailer has finally been revealed.
During Geeked Week 2023, the streaming giant unveiled the upcoming additions to the service in the coming months. The inaugural broadcast ended with the first glimpse of the adaptation of the Nickelodeon animated show.
The footage, less than 2 minutes long, shows iconic characters like Zuko, Katara, Sokka, and, of course, Aang. It also provides a general look at the 4 nations that make up this fantasy and martial arts world. Undoubtedly, the appearance of the protagonists and the representation of the settings harken back to their counterparts in the original series.

When does the series of Avatar: The Legend of Aang premiere on Netflix?
The official trailer ends with very good news. Specifically, it reveals that this new and ambitious project will hit the streaming service on February 22, 2024. The first season will consist of 8 episodes.
"The 4 nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of the 4 elements, tasked with maintaining peace among them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by firebenders to conquer the world. Since the current incarnation of the Avatar has not yet emerged, the world has lost hope," reads a part of the official synopsis.
The live-action series of Avatar: The Legend of Aang stars Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), and Dallas Liu (Zuko).
Due to the success of the adaptation of One Piece, which exceeded expectations and was a hit with the audience, the community is excited about this new project based on the classic cartoon from Nickelodeon.
