This morning kicked off a new season of Fortnite, but it's not like any other. This is a very special event for many players, as the Battle Royale returned to its beginnings and brought back its original map, as well as various classic weapons and items from 2017.
Nostalgia is powerful and the game's most recent numbers prove it. The OG Season started just a few hours ago, but this was enough for Epic Games' title to break an important record: surpassing its maximum peak of players.
Fortnite breaks user record with the return of its original map
According to the Fortnite.GG[/url] site (via Knoebel), Season OG kicked off in style in terms of player numbers. As of this writing, the Battle Royale has an incredible 3 million-plus active users. To be exact, the figure is 3,183,813 connected players.
The most surprising thing is that the title surpassed its maximum peak of players in its entire history with the return of its original map. Thanks to this, it registered a total of 3,913,817 users. Previously, the maximum peak was 2,342,751 players, a figure that was recorded in October this year.
Since Epic hinted at the map's return, players' expectations did not stop growing, so it is normal to know that the Battle Royale broke this important record. The maximum peak of users was updated in the last hour, so it will possibly increase even more.
Many players are more than satisfied with the OG Season, as it brought back the iconic locations that the Battle Royale offered during its original launch. Below you can see an image showing the current figures:
