As you may already know, Stardew Valley is available on consoles and PC and has become a beloved choice within the gaming community, thanks to the unique style that a developer like Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone can offer.

Now, the creator had an interview with IGN in which he discussed various aspects of his game. However, when asked about a potential movie adaptation, he set a condition for it to happen.

Here's what he had to say:

"I'm too protective of my intellectual property to hand it off to someone and say, 'Go ahead and make a Stardew Valley movie' or whatever. I would have to be closely involved in it. If Studio Ghibli came to me, I'd probably say, 'Okay, let's do it.' If David Lynch (film director) came to me and wanted to make a Stardew Valley movie, I'd say, 'Go ahead, just do it,'" said the developer.

As you can see, while Barone stated a preference for continuing to create games, a Stardew Valley movie could become a reality if specific studios express interest.

However, it seems that the ball is still in the air, and in the meantime, fans will have to wait for updates on the game's 1.6 patch and more details on ConcernedApe's upcoming project: Haunted Chocolatier.

Stardew Valley is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via Steam, and mobile devices.
