As usual, Nintendo makes monthly additions to the retro game catalog of Nintendo Switch Online, and October couldn't go without its share. Without a doubt, it will be one that fans of exclusive Japanese games will appreciate, as well as followers of Castlevania and Intelligent Systems.
The oldest title in this batch is DEVIL WORLD, one of the first games developed by Nintendo's in-house studio, Intelligent Systems, which is now better known for its Fire Emblem franchise. It is a 1984 NES title with maze puzzle gameplay style.
The Game Boy title is Castlevania Legends, an entry in Konami's legendary franchise that debuted in 1997 and allows you to control Sonia Belmont in a side-scrolling platform adventure.
Playing The Mysterious Murasame Castle has never been easier
Perhaps the addition that catches the attention of veteran Nintendo fans the most is The Mysterious Murasame Castle, a 1986 game particularly known for being exclusive to Japan for a long time, as it debuted on the Famicom Disk System and in 2004 came to the Game Boy Advance, although it never left Japan.
In 2014, however, the title was localized for the Western audience for the first time thanks to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console, impossible to obtain authentically after the digital store's closure earlier this year. That being said, it has never been easier to play this title, as all Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can now enjoy it at no additional cost.

We remind you that The Mysterious Murasame Castle, Castlevania Legends, and DEVIL WORLD have been added to the standard Nintendo Switch Online catalog, so the Expansion Pack category is not required. The most basic membership of Nintendo's online service is sufficient for access.
