On some previous occasions, Square Enix has commented on the possibility of altering the scene in question, and once again, those in charge of the project have hinted at it.
We're talking about the project director, Naoki Hamaguchi, who participated in the Thailand Game Show 2023. In an interview with Gamebrott, the creative was asked whether there would be any twist or alteration related to the memorable Aerith scene in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
What's interesting is that Hamaguchi didn't dodge the question; instead, he confirmed that the team has a "big surprise" prepared for the fans but didn't say more about it, inviting everyone to wait for the game.
Square Enix's hints seem to be getting clearer, and with this new response, a significant change in the original narrative could be anticipated, which will undoubtedly generate a lot of discussion... so all that's left is to wait.
