The world of video games is currently experiencing its peak of popularity, leading to connections with various sectors and events. A notable example is one of the most important pieces of news in the sports world, which is related to Mario Kart, one of Nintendo's most successful franchises and a favorite among tens of millions of players.

Eden Hazard, Football Star and Great Mario Kart Fan

Yesterday, Belgian footballer Eden Hazard announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 32, an unexpected announcement given his age but justified by the number of injuries that affected his career in recent years. A global star with Chelsea, his national team, and a tumultuous stint with Real Madrid, Eden Hazard left a legacy of success but also controversies due to his questionable professional attitude.

In light of his retirement, stories about what he did instead of training or being ready for matches have resurfaced, and, of course, this involved video games. According to the testimony of Brazilian footballer Filipe Luis, Hazard's teammate during his time at Chelsea, the Belgian footballer couldn't stop playing Mario Kart, and his love for Nintendo's game was such that he continued playing 5 minutes before the team took the field.

In this regard, Filipe Luis revealed, "Eden played Mario Kart in the dressing room, and suddenly the fitness coach would come and tell us that we would go out to warm up in 10 minutes. He hadn't even changed, but everyone else was already ready. 5 minutes later, he was still playing, and the coach would say, 'Eden, let's go,' while he replied, 'don't worry, just give me the ball, and there won't be any problems.'"

Despite not training or preparing well before matches due to playing Mario Kart, Eden Hazard relied on his youth and talent during those years at Chelsea. Filipe Luis even stated that despite not being disciplined and playing video games just before entering the field, he would come out, deceive everyone, and win matches on his own. Unfortunately, in his 30s and at Real Madrid, the lack of discipline in terms of physical preparation took a heavy toll, leading to his retirement.
