Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, the latest installment in the franchise that will serve as a direct sequel to the 2022 title, is just around the corner. As has been the tradition since 2015, players on the PlayStation ecosystem will have the opportunity to access exclusive content.
This week, the CoD Next event took place, where Activision showcased the new title in action and presented the latest developments in the saga. There, it revealed that users playing on PS4 and PS5 will be able to obtain a special item pack if they pre-order the game.

Specifically, owners of Sony consoles who purchase the new installment in the franchise during pre-order will receive the Lockpick Operator Pack, a special bundle that includes a new character (Elodie Micheaux), the Starry Knife knife, and the American Gothic SMG submachine gun.
All the content from the pack will be available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III when it launches on November 10th. It's important to note that this is a timed exclusive for the PlayStation ecosystem for one year, until November 9th, 2024. Of course, it is expected that the next iteration of the franchise will already be available or very close to release at that point.
In addition to the Lockpick Operator Pack, PS4 and PS5 players who pre-order the game will have access to the multiplayer Beta before other platforms.
Will this be the last exclusive content for PlayStation in Call of Duty?
Since Microsoft announced its plans to acquire Activision Blizzard over a year ago, the possible exclusivity of Call of Duty on Xbox ecosystems has been a recurring topic. Therefore, it is noteworthy that the PlayStation version has content that will be absent on other platforms.
The reason is that, since 2015, Activision and Sony have maintained an advertising agreement that allows exclusive content and other benefits such as game modes, maps, and experience bonuses to arrive first on PlayStation. However, this situation could change soon.
According to legal documents related to the legal conflict between Microsoft and the FTC, CoD: Modern Warfare III will be the last game in the franchise under that contract.
