How Many Episodes Will Rick and Morty Have?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the creative hinted that the animated series could last for decades, similar to what happened with The Simpsons from Fox and Disney. There are no further details, so it's unknown how many episodes are planned beyond those already agreed upon.
"In the way Rick and Morty is being handled now, Harmon believes it could mirror The Simpsons and continue for decades," can be read in the article.
We should remember that the Fox animated show focusing on the Springfield family first aired in the distant year of 1989. Since then, it has aired 750 episodes over 34 seasons. It's a mystery if the Adult Swim program can match that number.
Since its debut in 2013, Rick and Morty has only aired 30 episodes. Season 7, which will arrive in mid-October, will increase the count to 40 episodes.
According to reports, Adult Swim ordered a total of 70 episodes for the show created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon in 2018. Thus, we will have to wait to discover if the creators give the green light for the production of more episodes after reaching that number.
