One such title is Resident Evil 4 Remake, a Capcom success, and its price has just been revealed, sparking controversy.

According to a report from VGC, the pre-sale of Resident Evil 4 Remake on the App Store has been updated with pricing in some markets, indicating that this version will cost $60 USD, within the standard range for a video game on consoles or PC. However, in the case of the digital platform in the UK, there is mention of a free initial version that aims to be a demo. Once a limit is reached, users will be offered the option to purchase the full title for the aforementioned amount to continue playing.
The price of Resident Evil 4 Remake on the App Store immediately sparked controversy because, although powerful, Apple's hardware might not have the elements to justify such a move in the market. An application at this price, coupled with a video game, is considered unusual.
However, Mat Piscatella from Circana noted that it is a good strategy for Apple as they attempt to gauge the market's reaction to such a release. Considering that the version of Resident Evil 4 Remake on the App Store is on par with its counterparts on other platforms, they are betting on price parity. From there, they will make decisions for future releases, such as Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, which will also be available on the new generation of Apple devices like iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and certain models of iPad Pro and iPad Air.
