Exciting news has emerged regarding Masahiro Sakurai, as the Japanese game developer has just shared a new video on his YouTube channel where he decided to change things up a bit and showcase some collectible items he has held onto over the years.

As you may recall, Sakurai was the driving force behind Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, one of the most significant games on the Nintendo Switch. Now, Sakurai dedicates his channel, "Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games," to providing examples of how to develop video games.

However, this time, he decided to use his platform to display his enviable collection of rare items that very few people in the world can possess.

You can watch the video here:

"Given my history, I've accumulated a good number of gaming-related items over the years. Today, I'd like to share some of the rare pieces in my collection. (Just between us: I tried to share some even rarer ones, but they were rejected)," Sakurai's video description reads.

As you could see, the Japanese developer once again demonstrates that he is one of the most recognized and influential figures in the video game industry. This recognition has allowed him to amass a collection of quite rare collectible items that any fan would envy.

The video showcased that Sakurai has in his collection some items that the general gaming community would find hard to come by, such as trophies, awards, a Wii Remote with his image on it, a Pit and Palutena figurine, autographs from Shigeru Miyamoto and manga artists, and an Xbox 360 Elite with a plate bearing his name (which fell victim to the Red Ring of Death).

Now, the developer will make fans wonder if that collector's edition they bought and that was sold to thousands of people is truly that special.

What do you think of Sakurai's collection? Do you have something interesting to show off? Share your thoughts in the comments.
