How many subscribers does Xbox Game Pass have? Executive accidentally reveals it

Everything indicates that the service has been growing constantly

Xbox Game Pass is one of the most popular services in the industry, so it's no surprise to learn that its subscriber numbers continue to climb. While Microsoft hasn't revealed the updated figure for the platform's user numbers, an Xbox executive recently did so in an oversight.

Craig McNary, a member of the Xbox marketing team, recently updated his LinkedIn profile and revealed the figure. However, all indications are that he was not authorized to do so, so he deleted it shortly thereafter. Despite this, the detail did not go unnoticed by many.

Xbox Game Pass subscriber numbers continue to rise

In case you don't remember, Microsoft revealed in November 2022 that Xbox Game Pass had 25 million subscribers. The company wasn't entirely happy with that figure, saying it expected another 10 million more users.

Now, we know that the service has an estimated 30 million subscribers. At least that's what McNary published on his LinkedIn profile for a few minutes (via Pure Xbox). As we told you, the executive quickly edited the information and deleted this important piece of information.

Thus, there is a possibility that he simply did not have the authorization to publish the figure or preferred to delete it since it is an estimate and there is no certainty that it is close to the official number.

Surely Xbox Game Pass has grown significantly over the last few months; however, Microsoft has not disclosed the official number of subscribers.

Why has Xbox Game Pass been so popular?

Xbox Game Pass has gained tremendous popularity due to its attractive value proposition. It offers subscribers a wide variety of games from different genres, including AAA titles and indie games, for a reasonable monthly price.

In addition, Microsoft releases its exclusives on the service on the same day of launch, allowing gamers to enjoy the latest titles at no additional cost. The inclusion of Xbox Cloud Gaming, EA Play subscription, Bethesda games, attractive promotions and the constant expansion and improvement of the catalog are other key factors that have contributed to its popularity.
