The first part of the DLC for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet debuted today and is generating a lot of buzz among the series' players, who are discovering everything Kitakami has to offer. One detail that the game confirms is a theory that fans had, suggesting that remakes of Pokémon Black & White are in development.
Without delving into crucial story details, the DLC in question, The Teal Mask, allows players to visit the Kitakami region, where they can not only find new Pokémon but also new friends.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Will Take Players to Unova
One of these friends is Professor Briar, a teacher at Blueberry Academy, who will be responsible for guiding players to this new region.
What's interesting, however, is that in a conversation with Professor Jacq, it's revealed that Blueberry Academy is not located in Paldea but in Unova (Unova), the region where the events of Pokémon Black & White take place.
Since fans were able to see trailers of the The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk DLC content, they suspected it would be related to the series' 5th generation games based on many clues, such as the possible connection between the new character from the second DLC, Drayton, and Unova's dragon master, Drayden.
Did Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Just Confirm the Pokémon Black & White Remakes?
However, this is the first time The Pokémon Company has officially addressed it, and the best part is that it's a confirmation. The Indigo Disk will take players to Blueberry Academy, which means they will be visiting Unova.
But it doesn't end there, as more adventurous fans are taking this as a hint pointing to Pokémon Black & White remakes. Although The Pokémon Company has not spoken about these projects, the possibility is not far-fetched, considering that the company has released remakes of its original games 15 years after their debut; the latest being Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. So, it's reasonable to think that Pokémon Black & White remakes could be next, especially considering that both will celebrate their 15th anniversary in 2025.
We'll keep you informed.
