This week the Roblox Developers Conference 2023 took place, where the future of the popular platform with millions of users was discussed. David Baszucki, its CEO, wants Roblox to stop being an experience only for children, so he has ambitious plans for its future.
One of them is to make it offer virtual dating so that those of legal age can meet and establish relationships in the real world. So Roblox could become a dating platform for gamers in the next few years.
Roblox could be the dating platform of the future
Baszucki talked about the platform's next decade and made some interesting predictions. One of them is related to turning Roblox into a dating app of sorts. Roblox Corporation currently offers experiences aimed only at users of legal age.
It also plans to incorporate several features that could take the platform into the realm of virtual dating. One of them is the possibility of creating a much more realistic avatar by means of artificial intelligence. In addition, they are already working on the incorporation of a video chat.
The manager's idea is that Roblox will be a place where adults can also interact, live together and, later on, get to know each other outside the game. Another of his goals is to make the title a communication channel between family members.
Baszucki predicts that, over the next few years, Roblox could also be used as part of large companies' hiring processes, as a fully integrated educational platform in schools and more.
