Charles Martinet is no longer the voice of Mario and other iconic Nintendo characters. The company knows that fans have doubts about the future of the actor and what will happen with the beloved voices of their characters, so this morning released a special video to clear up any doubts.

In it, Shigeru Miyamoto thanks Martinet for all his work and talks about his beginnings as the voice of Mario. He then goes on to explain the mysterious role of Mario Ambassador that Martinet will be taking on from now on. Of course, the actor also appears in the video to talk about his new career.

What will Martinet do as Mario Ambassador? Miyamoto reveals it

The video opens with Martinet reminding players that he is the voice of Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi. The actor mentions that he is very happy with his career and his new role as Mario Ambassador. What does this mean? That the actor will travel around the world to "share the joy" of the franchise and interact with fans.

For his part, Miyamoto recalled Martinet's beginnings as Mario and all the work he has done around the world to raise awareness of the character and the saga. The executive stressed that Martinet will travel and be present at events to play iconic characters and sign autographs.

“You always place a priority on spreading joy, and I am sure that you will be a great Mario Ambassador. Please know that in this role Charles will continue to travel around the world and meet fans, performing the familiar voices at events, signing autographs, and enjoying interacting with you all," Miyamoto said
