Sony revealed important information this morning about the PlayStation Portal, the portable device formerly known as Project Q. One of the details that caught the most attention was its price, as many players had thought it would be more expensive.
While some brand fans are excited since the device will cost $199 USD, other players stated that they still won't give PlayStation Portal a chance. The reason? Its concept and design simply didn't convince them.
Players Wonder if PlayStation Portal Will Be Worth It
Several players stated on social media that they will give the device a chance upon release since they believe its price is accessible. On the other hand, other fans mentioned they will acquire it, but only when there's a discount.
Contrastingly, another part of the community affirmed they won't buy it under any circumstances, as its game streaming-focused concept doesn't appeal to them. Moreover, various fans aren't pleased with the idea that owning a PS5 is a requirement to make the most of it.
Another disappointing aspect for many is that PlayStation Portal won't be able to run cloud-compatible titles offered as part of PlayStation Plus; it will only be able to play games that are installed on a PS5 and support the portable device.
"Buying the PlayStation Portal is synonymous with throwing money in the trash" and "That PlayStation Portal is a waste of resources" are some of the comments that can be read on social media. Some fans even mentioned they'd prefer to stick with their PlayStation Vita than to try the new device.
Despite this, opinions are divided, as there are those who believe the features and technology of the device are worth the $199 USD price.

PlayStation Portal? No thanks, I got that at home. It's called a Vita. Sure, it has no triggers, but at least I can use the touch pad in their place and it works just fine. Even with my console and a crappy router being downstairs, I never had a problem playing up in my room.
