His owners published a special message to say goodbye to their beloved pet and asked the community not to be saddened by the news, as Balltze always represented joy.
"Don’t be sad, please remember the joy that Balltze brought to the world. A Shiba Inu with a round smiling face connecting you and me, he has helped many people during the pandemic and brought a lot of joy to many of you, but now his mission has completed. I believe he is running freely in the sky and having a lot of delicious food with his new friends.
"He will always be inside my heart. I hope he can continue to bring joy to everyone in the online world, that’s my only humble request. Also, I would like to thank the medical staff who had helped Balltze for the past 6 months", they wrote on social media

Balltze rose to fame with a photograph that was posted on Instagram in 2017. The image powerfully caught the attention of users of various social networks and forums, as the little dog had quite a funny face.
It was only a short time before Balltze became the protagonist of the popular meme Cheems, which gained a lot of traction. Thus, the little dog became one of the most popular pets in the world with millions of followers on social networks.
