Take-Two Interactive correctly anticipated the interest in the port

Amidst a wave of remakes and remasters, Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive dared to announce an unchanged port of Red Dead Redemption for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. This decision garnered a lot of attention and criticism, but in the end, the title is proving to be very popular.

Executives at Take-Two Interactive defended the price they set for the game, arguing that it was the "commercially correct price" and would offer value to consumers, and it seems the company knew what they were talking about.

We say this because shortly after the digital release of the Red Dead Redemption port, the PlayStation version is ranking high on the PlayStation Store.

Red Dead Redemption is popular once again on the PlayStation Store

Precisely, on the European PlayStation Store, Red Dead Redemption (priced at $49.99 USD despite the criticism) is in 2nd place among popular games, just below EA Sports FC 24, as reported by Twitter user (X) videotechx.

The title is not only of interest in Europe but also in the United States, as the PlayStation version ranks 3rd, right behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Grand Theft Auto V, according to Push Square.

As we mentioned, the new Red Dead Redemption ports will be released in a few hours, on August 17th, so we have no doubt it will climb the rankings in the first days of availability.

However, a detail to consider is that the most popular games do not necessarily equate to the highest sales; in other words, they don't reflect the title's sales but rather the interest generated by the number of users who add them to their wishlist. Nevertheless, not every game makes it onto the list, and it's a positive indicator for Take-Two Interactive, as this interest will likely translate into sales once it's available.
