Final Fantasy VII Remake, one of the most anticipated re-releases in gaming history, made a grand entrance on PlayStation 4 in 2020. A year later, it did the same on PC with its Integrade version. Unfortunately, it remains unknown whether it will ever be available on Xbox ecosystems. While the community had lost hope, a new hint restored the faith of the fans.
August 13th marks Father's Day celebrations in Brazil. To commemorate this special date, the official Xbox account in that country shared an image showcasing the paternal and protective side of some characters: from Marcus Fenix of Gears of War to Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher.
Final Fantasy VII Remake on Xbox?
However, fans quickly noticed that the collage also included Barret and his daughter Marlene from Final Fantasy VII Remake. This stands out, given that Square Enix's JRPG is notably absent from Microsoft platforms.
The Xbox Brazil profile has since deleted the image, but screenshots are already circulating on social media. Naturally, this situation has heightened the community's anticipation and players hope that the official announcement will come soon.
During the 2023 Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival, Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, took the stage to confirm that the MMORPG will arrive on Microsoft platforms. Furthermore, he reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with Square Enix on "future games."
It's worth noting that Microsoft will be at the Tokyo Game Show 2023. Could the official announcement be made there? We'll have to wait to find out.
Of course, there's always the possibility that this was a simple mistake made by the Xbox Brazil social media team, and the game may never come to Microsoft consoles. With this in mind, it's recommended to temper expectations to avoid disappointment.
But tell us, do you think the JRPG game will come to Xbox? Let us know in the comments.
