Tomorrow will mark 2 years since the infamous reveal of Abandoned, BLUE BOX Studio's PlayStation 5 title that never arrived and is considered one of the biggest hoaxes in the industry. The title was revealed through a special app that disappointed with its content, as it showed practically nothing new about the project.
During all this time, the company has remained silent, but players have not forgotten everything that happened with this controversial game. So part of the community remembered it on social networks as a big scam and talked about the most shameful moments of BLUE BOX Studio.
Gamers remember the Abandoned scam
In case you don't remember, Abandoned was revealed in April 2021 with an aura of mystery that excited many gamers. As time went on, BLUE BOX Studio gave somewhat strange hints of their game, as they hinted that it might be a new Silent Hill.
Later, Hideo Kojima was linked to the studio and was thought to be the mastermind behind the project. It was then that a snowball started to form that put the BLUE BOX studio in trouble, which did not stop giving pretexts to the lack of information about the title.
On August 13, 2021, a PS5 application finally debuted, disappointing the entire community. From then on, players no longer trusted the studio and Hasan Kahraman practically disappeared. While BLUE BOX Studio's website and social media are still available, they haven't been updated in years.
Because the anniversary of its infamous reveal is so close, gamers remembered Abandoned and called it one of the biggest rip-offs in the industry. Others claimed that the title lived up to its name, as many believe it was totally abandoned and will never see the light of day.
