New clue excites fans waiting for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4

The community believes that Bandai Namco's video game development is on the right track

The Budokai Tenkaichi saga of Dragon Ball Z stood out for its large roster and enjoyable gameplay that captures the magic of the battles from the manga and anime. Many years have passed since the last release, so the community eagerly anticipates the fourth installment.

In March 2023, Bandai Namco confirmed that a new game in the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series is in development. Unfortunately, news has been scarce, and the majority of official details remain a mystery. So far, we only know that Goku will be able to transform into Super Saiyan Blue, suggesting that characters from Dragon Ball Super will be included in the game.

That said, the community is eager to learn more about the project. Although it's unknown when new details will come to light, a new clue has sparked excitement and raised hopes.

CLUE SUGGESTS THAT THE DEVELOPMENT OF DBZ: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI 4 IS ON THE RIGHT PATH

A few days ago, Sonny Strait, the voice actor who portrays Krillin and Bardock in the English dub of the franchise, shared a video on his TikTok account revealing that he had a recording session for a game. He refrained from providing further information, but he stated that he voiced 3 characters and that there were "a lot of screams".

Of course, Dragon Ball is known for its characters frequently screaming during battles. Thus, the community hopes that the game Sonny Strait refers to is none other than Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As highlighted by ComicBook, it's possible that the actor lent his voice to Krillin, Bardock, and General Blue, a character he also portrayed in the last game of the subseries that debuted back in 2007.

Although there's no official information confirming that the actor participated in a recording session for Budokai Tenkaichi 4, the well-known informant and YouTuber, Geekdom101, shared a very interesting leak. Specifically, he assured that the English dubbing for the game has begun, although the release still seems distant.

"I found out last week that they were recording BT4 lines in English, but I kept my mouth shut because... well... Dragon Ball 'leaks' on twitter have become a bit of a joke. Now that Sonny confirmed it w/o confirming it, I feel confident in confirming that yes... its BT4. Is still in development, of course, but ughh... 'With each passing month, production has progressed to a higher level' (...) I'm guessing it summer/fall 2024", Geekdom101 said.

However, we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt and waiting for an official announcement that sheds light on the state of the project. At the end of the day, it's possible that Sonny Strait could be working on a project entirely unrelated to the Toei Animation franchise.

But tell us, does this title excite you? Do you think it will live up to expectations? Let us know in the comments.
