Grand Theft Auto V is one of the biggest phenomena in video game history, a unique case that impacted the business of its studio and publisher, as well as the industry in general. On the other hand, Take-Two and Rockstar Games boasted the sales of another of their jewels: Red Dead Redemption 2. According to the data of the financial report, the title has already sold 55 million copies, a figure that keeps it as the eighth best-selling video game in history and puts it in the hunt for the seventh place occupied by Nintendo's legendary Super Mario Bros..

In this regard, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, noted that GTA V and GTA Online exceeded quarterly expectations in terms of copy sales and number of users and even highlighted that the average number of players in the online component during June exceeded any record outside the pandemic period.

On the other hand, the executive celebrated the 79 million copies that Red Dead Redemption has sold as a franchise and assured that the company is very satisfied with the results delivered by the IP.
