Lenovo wants to release its own Steam Deck Killer, reportedly called Legion GO

It seems that Valve's platform and the ASUS ROG Ally finally have some competition

Steam Deck has become a true success, and other companies have taken notice. We've already seen ASUS do it with the ROG Ally, and now it appears that Lenovo will be the next one to enter the gaming handheld market to compete with the Steam Deck.

According to a report from Jez Corden, a journalist from Windows Central, Lenovo is working on a new handheld gaming PC. Its name would be Legion GO, and it will be a gaming PC equipped with Windows 11.

The Lenovo Legion GO would be a handheld computer similar to the Steam Deck and ROG Ally, equipped with the new AMD Phoenix 7040 processors. If you're not familiar with them, these chips are designed for thin gaming-focused devices, artificial intelligence, and graphics.

The source also claims that the Lenovo Legion GO will have an 8-inch display, making it larger than the screens of the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally. This could be a significant advantage over the competition, especially considering that many PC games are designed to be played on larger screens.

It's important to note that the Lenovo Legion GO will be different from the Lenovo Legion Play, a streaming-focused device that never materialized. In other words, Legion GO will allow you to play PC games natively, just like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally, and won't follow the same concept as devices like Logitech G Cloud or Razer Edge.

It's worth mentioning that, for now, Lenovo has not officially confirmed the existence of the Legion GO. We'll keep an eye out for further updates and let you know when more information about this portable device becomes available.

What do you think about this news? Do you think the Legion GO can be successful? Let us know in the comments.
