Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart arrived on PC last week, and as with all PlayStation releases on Steam, many decided to scrutinize how successful it has been. Thanks to this, we now know that it is the third worst PlayStation release on PC.
According to data from SteamDB, in its initial days on PC, Ratchet & Clank only managed to peak at 8757 concurrent users. While the port received several positive reviews, this indicates that it simply didn't catch the attention of the vast majority of Steam users. At least not enough to buy it at its launch.
With these numbers, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart becomes the third worst PlayStation release on PC. The game by Insomniac Games only surpasses Returnal (peaking at 6691 concurrent users) and Sackboy: A Big Adventure (peaking at 610 concurrent users).
How have PlayStation 5 releases performed on PC?
Here are the peak concurrent users achieved by all PlayStation releases on PC:
- God of War ― 73,529 concurrent users
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered ― 66,436 concurrent users
- Horizon Zero Dawn ― 56,557 concurrent users
- The Last of Us: Part I ― 36,496 concurrent users
- Days Gone ― 27,450 concurrent users
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart ― 8757 concurrent users
- Returnal ― 6691 concurrent users
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure ― 610 concurrent users
With this, PlayStation releases on PC continue to struggle to conquer the masses on Steam. It would be interesting to know if PlayStation is content with these figures or if it will lead to any changes in their plans to release games in the PC world.
