Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, revealed this morning a new commercial milestone for PlayStation 5. Through a statement, he reported that the console has already sold more than 40 million units worldwide.
The executive was very satisfied with the results, as he believes that it is a very good figure taking into account that the system arrived during the pandemic, which hindered its launch and distribution in several regions. To celebrate this new sales goal, Ryan also shared an interesting list with the 40 most popular games of the console. This according to a vote that was made among console users.
Sony boasts PlayStation 5 sales and top games
Ryan affirmed that the difficulties that the pandemic generated for PlayStation 5 are in the past, since they have finally managed to end the shortage and now it is easy to get a console. On the other hand, he revealed that the console already has a catalog of more than 2,500 titles, including major AAA games and independent productions.
"Thank you so much to our community of gamers – without you this would have been an impossible task. PlayStation 5 launched with the best catalog of games in our history and the momentum for great content keeps getting stronger," the executive said.
Ryan also highlighted the good work that PlayStation has done to offer accessories and peripherals to fans of the brand.
