The passage of time can either work for or against a video game. Against, when it succumbs to disinterest, making a re-release nearly impossible; in favor, when not only a port, remaster, or remake is ensured, but also when exclusivity agreements from the past are broken. Just that might be the case with the return of the Baten Kaitos series, originally from GameCube, confirmed for Switch and possibly with a release on another platform.
Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster might be on its way to PC, not just to Switch
A report from Gematsu revealed a list of content approved by the South African Film and Publication Board, which exposed information that is not confirmed, nor even announced, in the gaming world, like the supposed compilation of Borderlands. In this very case, a version of Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster for PC appears listed, which is undoubtedly surprising since this remaster of the original GameCube games is only confirmed for Nintendo Switch with a release on September 14 and nothing else.

Considering a release of Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster on another platform doesn't sound far-fetched, as while it is the re-release of 2 JRPGs that were originally exclusive to the Nintendo GameCube, they are also cult classics within the genre, and perhaps a new exclusivity on the hybrid console could prove counterproductive.
Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster is the remaster of Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, which was released on GameCube in 2003, and Baten Kaitos Origins, a prequel that debuted in 2006 for the same Nintendo console. These games were developed by Monolith Soft, creators of Xenoblade Chronicles, in collaboration with the Japanese team tri-Crescendo.
