Find out the launch date, price and all the benefits of the new plan

The reports were true: Xbox LIVE Gold will disappear this year and will be replaced by Xbox Game Pass Core, a new variant of the popular service. Through Xbox Wire, Microsoft confirmed this important change in its ecosystem.

The company detailed each of the benefits of the new plan, its price, as well as the new features that Xbox Game Pass Core will receive over time. Below, we share all the details.

What is Xbox Game Pass Core and when will it debut?

Xbox Game Pass Core will be the evolution of Xbox LIVE Gold, a service that will change and mark the end of Games with Gold. The new service plan will offer online multiplayer, exclusive offers and discounts, as well as access to 25 games from the Game Pass catalog for consoles.

Microsoft revealed that Xbox Game Pass Core will debut worldwide on September 14. It will be offered for a monthly payment of $9.99. Users will also have an option to pay for the service on an annual basis.

As we told you, the plan will offer 25 Game Pass games that may vary over time and depending on the region. We also know that the Core service will receive new games 2 or 3 times a year.

It is important to mention that active Xbox LIVE Gold users will automatically become members of the new service. Below is the list of titles confirmed for our region:

  • Among Us
  • Descenders
  • Dishonored 2
  • DOOM Eternal
  • Fable Anniversary
  • Fallout 4
  • Fallout 76
  • Forza Horizon 4
  • Gears 5
  • Grounded
  • Halo 5: Guardians
  • Halo Wars 2
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
  • Human Fall Flat
  • INSIDE
  • Ori & The Will of the Wisps
  • Psychonauts 2
  • State of Decay 2
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited

What will happen to Games with Gold and its games?

Games with Gold will disappear as such on September 1. The good news is that gamers will still be able to access all their Xbox One titles they have previously redeemed through the program. Playing them will require an active Xbox Game Pass Core or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

On the other hand, all Xbox 360 games obtained from Games with Gold will also remain in the players' library, regardless of their subscription status.
