Satya Nadella looks to double Xbox's revenue in a few years

Thanks to the hearings between Microsoft and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), we know that Xbox wants to surpass its main rivals and become the industry leader, at least in terms of revenue. Several documents revealed the company's plans to reach that goal by 2030.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella already has a plan to achieve this. The executive stated that Xbox is one of the current industry leaders, but wants to go further and double its revenues in a few years.

Xbox will continue to compete to be the market leader

"Our ambition is to reach industry leadership, as defined by global revenue, by 2030. This implies doubling our total revenue during that timeframe," reads one of the documents presented at the hearing.

According to the details, Microsoft already has a plan for Xbox to lead in the industry. One document talks about the company's strategy focused on the continued expansion of Xbox Game Pass. We know that Microsoft wants to use PC Game Pass to gain even more ground in the PC market.

On the other hand, it is also very interested in the mobile market, so Xbox Cloud Gaming is of vital importance in its strategy. It is important to comment that these documents date from at least 1 year ago, so it is not clear if the company's strategy has undergone any major changes.

We know that Microsoft is not entirely satisfied with the growth of these services; however, this will make the company inject even more money into them to boost them. On the other hand, Xbox already has an attractive lineup of games planned for the coming months, which will undoubtedly contribute to achieving its 2030 goal.
