The Fable franchise remained dormant for a long time. Fortunately, a few days ago, it showed signs of life with a new and spectacular trailer for the upcoming installment currently being developed by Playground Games, a studio known for its work on the Forza Horizon series. What was seen excited many fans, but it also generated skepticism. Will the new game really look that good?
Apparently, many users doubt that the material seen in the trailer is the actual game and claim it is a CGI scene. However, it seems they are in-game scenes running on the game engine. At least, that's what a developer behind the project indicated on their personal Twitter account.
"People not believing this is 'real' or that the game will look like this is one of the best compliments," said Lukas Koelz, principal lighting artist for the new Fable installment. He also shared some screenshots of the teaser shown at the Xbox Games Showcase on Twitter.
In response to a user, the developer indicated that Playground Games used the Forzatech game engine, the same one used in the Forza Horizon series. In an earlier tweet, he pointed out that everything was captured on an Xbox Series X.
Naturally, fans reacted with amazement to Lukas Koelz's words and praised the game's visual aspects. However, there are still skeptics. Therefore, it seems the developing studio will have to show an extended gameplay trailer to dispel any doubts and concerns from the community.
Unfortunately, the new Fable title does not have a release window or date yet, so its launch looks distant. The good news is that it will be available on day one in the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
But tell us, did you get excited about the game trailer? Let us know in the comments.
