Why is Ganondorf so attractive in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? Nintendo finally explains it

The villain's design has caused a lot of talk in the new Switch installment

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has already debuted, and while Link and Zelda are the heroes of the adventure, the reality is that the spotlight has been on their villain: Ganondorf. This is because he has a design that many consider overly attractive, something unusual for this antagonist. But what is the reason for this change? Nintendo finally explained it.

Recently, The Verge had the opportunity to speak with Hidemaro Fujibayashi, director of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. At the end of the interview, they asked him about Ganondorf's new design, specifically about the reason why he is "too attractive."

Fujibayashi explained that Ganondorf's role in The Legend of Zelda's story is as important as Link or Zelda's. Therefore, he asked Satoru Takizawa, who has been in charge of Ganondorf's design since Twilight Princess, to make it very cool.

"From my point of view, it is clear that Ganondorf is, of course, the evil antagonist, but he also plays a role almost as important as the main hero, which contrasts with each other as part of this legend. So my only request was that, given that he is such an important character at the same level as the protagonist, they turned him into a cool and impressive demon king," said Fujibayashi.

Later, Fujibayashi explained that Takizawa knew how to give Ganondorf what he needed, and this was possible because he really loves the character. In fact, the creative was really excited to know that he would have so much importance in Tears of the Kingdom.

What do you think of Fujibayashi's statements? Do you like Ganondorf's new design? Tell us in the comments.
