Five Nights at Freddy's is one of the most popular independent horror games of the last decade and quickly became a mass phenomenon. This year it will make the leap to the big screen with an ambitious live-action movie. When will the official trailer debut? It's impossible to know, but a user has already spoiled the surprise.
Lasst weekend a leak revealed a preliminary version of the first official trailer for the horror movie. Scott Cawthon, creator of the franchise and developer of the original installments, lamented what happened and thanked the community for their support.
While Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have done everything possible to remove the video from social media, the truth is that it is still circulating on the internet and is very easy to find. The damage is done and nothing can remedy it. It seems that the person responsible for the leak finally realized their mistake, as they uploaded a video where they acknowledge the harm they caused and apologize.
FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S LEAKER BELIEVES THEY WILL BE SUED; APOLOGIZES
In a clip of just 2 minutes that they uploaded to their YouTube channel, the leaker, known as KaijuCooper on the internet, admitted that they were the ones who leaked the Five Nights at Freddy's film trailer. They assure that nothing they say or do can remedy the situation, as the video has already accumulated thousands of views on Twitter, YouTube, and Reddit. Thus, their only goal is to apologize.
If the lawyers actually decide to go after him, he is totally screwed. Admitted both in video and in comments that he knows what he did was illegal, and did it for internet clout 🤡 pic.twitter.com/noI943KdLO

KaijuCooper confessed that they signed a confidentiality agreement, so they are aware that Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions could take legal action against them. Additionally, they claim that they knew what they were doing was illegal, but they still "did it for the people."
It's hard to know if the responsible parties for the Five Nights at Freddy's adaptation will sue the leaker. Meanwhile, the community did not miss the opportunity to make memes and jokes about it.
