Konami announces new Silent Hill project you probably didn't expect

The company is taking the franchise's resurrection very seriously.

Last year was special for Konami and Silent Hill fans in particular, as the much-awaited return of the franchise was announced. Some rumors indicated that Konami planned to collaborate with different companies to revive the brand, and they are slowly turning out to be true; in fact, an unusual cosmetic partnership has just been confirmed.

Almost all of the upcoming Silent Hill games are being developed by external studios such as Bloober Team, No Code, and Behaviour Interactive, but it seems the company, after keeping Silent Hill inactive for many years, is serious now that it has finally realized there is a lot of interest in the IP. And Konami makes this clear in its latest collaboration on Silent Hill, which involves makeup.

You read that right, Konami has just partnered with the Los Angeles-based makeup company Vampyre Cosmetics to launch an official makeup collection inspired by the horror franchise.

Vampyre Cosmetics is a specialized makeup company whose founder and CEO, Rachel Clinesmith, is a veteran in the business, responsible for makeup in horror movies and haunted houses.

Unfortunately, the announcement was somewhat premature, as no product images or collaboration details were shown. However, we know that like all of the company's products, the Silent Hill collaboration ones will be vegan and talc-free, and no animal cruelty will be involved in making them.

"Vampyre Cosmetics combines unique packaging and nostalgic imagery in a way that makes people say 'wow'," reads the business description. "Each and every product is created with a rigorous focus on eliciting an emotional response, making Vampyre Cosmetics the perfect choice to bring this collection to life and excite fans who have been playing the title since 2001".

This is not the first time that Konami has announced a collaboration related to Silent Hill that is unrelated to video games. The company has licensed the franchise for clothing collections and other accessories.

In short, Silent Hill fans, we know it's not what you expected, but rejoice, as it's better than the series being forgotten or only remembered through pachinko machines. Moreover, we have no doubt that cosplay or costume enthusiasts, as well as die-hard series fans, will enjoy this collection very much. Best of all, Vampyre Cosmetics has an online store with international shipping.
