The Pokémon phenomenon is far from over, and one of its most successful products remains the Collectible Card Game (Pokémon TCG). In fact, it's so popular that many turn it into a resale business, preventing true collectors or players from enjoying it. Well, there's a store that has taken action and banned adults from buying cards.

As we mentioned, the latest expansion sets for Pokémon TCG, Clay Burst and Snow Hazard, are 2 of the most popular in the franchise's history, primarily thanks to a Pokémon waifu, Scarlet & Violet. The demand for this product is so high that The Pokémon Company confirmed that it was impossible to get the latest expansions.

The problem is so serious that one of the most important stores in this hobby has banned purchases in Akihabara, a tourist and relevant area of Tokyo, Japan.

Recently, Hareruya 2 announced that it will sell the latest Pokémon card expansions to middle school students or younger in order to prevent adults from instantly depleting stock and halt resale, and to make the cards more accessible to minors.

The store allows a purchase limit of 10 packs per day and may request identification from consumers to verify their age, and has asked anyone older to refrain from using young people to buy cards for themselves, even their parents.

This measure was implemented after there were long lines of consumers at midnight trying to get these expansions.

History has shown us that scarcity is not taken lightly in Japan, as when the shortage of consoles and video games was at its peak, several Japanese stores announced strong measures to combat resellers, through lottery systems. In fact, Amazon Japan does not allow direct purchase of the latest Pokémon TCG sets, only through invitation.

What do you think of this Japanese store's measures? Let us know in the comments.
