Gamers are in for an unpleasant surprise if they buy a physical copy of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. According to recent information, the disc version of Respawn and EA's video game, which is released on April 28th, will require additional data to be downloaded before fans can play it in its entirety.

As you may know, it was recently confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be a huge game. For starters, we have its PC version which will take up 155 GB of available space on your console. Meanwhile, the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions have a similar case, taking up 147.577 GB and 139.08 GB of space, respectively. The smallest download will be on Xbox Series S, with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor apparently only needing 44 GB, a difference of approximately 100 GB.

Many may opt to buy the physical version for collection or to avoid downloading content. If you're in the second group, we have bad news for you, as a Reddit user named NightwingXII shared an image of the physical copies of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Here, it caught attention that the cover has a legend with the words "Download Required" written in the bottom left.

Apparently, the image comes from Mighty Ape, a video game store in New Zealand. This theory makes sense, as in the background, you can see a lot of copies for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. So, it seems that these are real copies of the anticipated game.

However, it should be noted that, if true, at the moment, it is unknown how much data will be required to download to be able to play. Nevertheless, it seems like a measure that EA took to avoid the problems of having to release Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on 2 discs, as happened with Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Last of Us Part II last generation.

What do you think about this? Does it bother you that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor may require additional downloads? Let us know in the comments.
