Horizon DLC suffers review bombing; accused of being LGBT+ propaganda

The new story content featuring Aloy has divided the series' community

This week, the Burning Shores DLC for Horizon Forbidden West was released, which continued Aloy's story. Fans of the series had been eagerly anticipating it, but some were not happy with its content, which they branded as "woke propaganda" and "LGBT agenda", leading them to bombard the game with negative reviews.

SPOILER ALERT: While we won't discuss the game's plot itself, we will talk about one of the events that generated a lot of discussion, a surprise that you may want to discover by playing it for yourself. That said, if you haven't tried the DLC yet, we invite you to stop reading.

As we mentioned a few days ago, one thing that caught many people's attention was that Burning Shores finally reveals that one of its characters is part of the LGBT community, namely, a lesbian. Naturally, this did not sit well with everyone. But it didn't stop there, as some fans expressed their displeasure on social media and even gave the DLC absolutely negative reviews, with some giving it 0 out of 10 on Metacritic.

At the time of writing, the number of negative user reviews (462) is almost 2.7 times larger than the positive ones (175), resulting in an average rating of 3.0 for the DLC. In contrast, in specialized reviews, almost all the reviews are positive (22) and only 2 are mixed.

"Boring, the love story is just there to shove the LGBT agenda in your face, just another woke shot in the wall," complained one disgruntled reviewer.

"Focus on the story, not the propaganda. I won't buy any more games in this series. It stinks," commented another.

"They put in a lesbian quote just to satisfy woke culture. Aloy never showed signs of being a lesbian," snapped another reviewer, who decided not to make the purchase due to the DLC's content.

"Another game ruined by the gay agenda, for what? People just want to have fun, not be indoctrinated. Sony should be careful because many brands have been hurt by prioritizing the agenda imposed by business. I will never buy a Horizon game again," said one more.

What do you think of the review bombing of Horizon Forbidden West?
