Warner Bros. found its director last year

For years, we have known that Minecraft would have a movie that unfortunately spent a long time in development hell. Luckily, the project has finally emerged from this difficult time and Warner Bros. has now announced a release date.

According to information from Deadline, Warner Bros. revealed updates on its upcoming release schedule, including the news that the Minecraft movie, starring Jason Momoa, now has a release date.

According to Warner Bros.' schedule, Minecraft will debut on April 4th, 2025. It is worth noting that the company had reserved this date for a release for some time, but it has now been confirmed that it is indeed the Minecraft movie.

Currently, not much is known about the Minecraft movie, other than it will star Jason Momoa, best known for his roles as Aquaman in the DC universe and for his appearances in Game of Thrones. The film will also be directed by Jared Hess, best known for directing Napoleon Dynamite.

Last year, it was announced that Mary Parent and Roy Lee would produce the adaptation. Jon Berg, Cale Boyter, and Jon Spaihts will also serve as executive producers. Lydia Winters and Vu Bui of Mojang will oversee production and will also receive production credits.
