Many gamers hold dear memories of classic Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings games. While both franchises continue to be active in video games, many fans miss the titles that debuted over two decades ago.

For this reason, the community has come together to ask Electronic Arts, Warner Bros., and other companies to revive some of the best games from both sagas. These games are in limbo due to licensing issues and cannot be enjoyed on modern platforms.

PLAYERS PETITION FOR CLASSIC GAMES TO RETURN

A group of gamers turned to Change.org to petition for the return of several Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings games that are lost due to licensing issues. Fans believe that Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. Discovery could come to an agreement to revive them.

"If Warner Bros. could reach a licensing renewal agreement with EA to publish their old Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings games, it would mean a lot to Wizarding World and Middle-Earth fans alike," says the petition.

Fans are also excited about the possibility of Lord of the Rings titles released under the Vivendi label returning thanks to an agreement between Microsoft, Activision Blizzard, and Embracer, the current owner of the saga's rights.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age are just some of the games that fans want to see make a comeback.

At the time of writing, the petition has garnered the signatures of 15,931 players. Their goal is to collect at least 25,000 signatures to demonstrate that there is a genuine interest in the old franchises' classic games.
