While last year it was announced that E3 would return in June 2023 with a bang, in recent weeks several questions were raised about the video game event. Now, new information suggests that E3 2023 has been canceled, so it will not take place.

According to information from IGN, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the organization that founded E3, the event scheduled for June 13-16 in Los Angeles will not take place. We remind you that it was scheduled to be the first in-person E3 since 2019.

According to 2 sources close to the ESA, the organization sent an email to its members. In it, it noted that while E3 remains a "beloved" brand and event, the reality is that the 2023 edition did not "garner the sustained interest necessary to execute it in a way that would showcase the size, strength, and impact of our industry."

It is worth mentioning that in the email the ESA does not mention anything about a new edition of E3 next year and only commits to continue supporting the industry. So, it is unknown if this news will be the final nail in the event's coffin. E3 2023 was scheduled to be held June 13-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.

Many users have shared their perspectives on this situation. Some believe that this was inevitable as E3 was in decline and showed no improvement in recent years, others still enjoyed this famous event and looked forward to attending, and even think that this will be temporary and E3 can still be reborn better than before.

Do you think the E3 event will happen by next year or will it be canceled again? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
