The 3DS and Wii U eShop's minutes are numbered, as it will close today for good on both platforms. As soon as the countdown began, gamers took to social networks to bid the online store a final farewell.

Some users decided to make a few recommendations for gamers to take advantage of and purchase attractive titles. On the other hand, other 3DS and Wii U users shared a variety of drawings in honor of the eShop and all its games.

Many gamers were filled with nostalgia as they recalled their moments with their 3DS and Wii U. They highlighted the potential of both consoles and their incredible catalog of games. So they lamented the closure of their store, as they consider it the end of an era.

Several of them remembered the adorable shopping bag that became the character of the eShop. Players paid tribute to him with various drawings showing him in a final download on the digital store.

"In a few hours, the eShops for the 3DS and Wii U will shut down for good, and with it the end of an era. The eShop bag goes for one last ride, thanking you for all your purchases. Now it's our turn to say thank you... for all the memories," wrote one fan.

Other players remembered the store's music and sound effects, as they consider them to be very iconic and will be remembered forever. There were also people who lamented the games and apps that will disappear after its final closure.
