Valve's popular first-person shooter, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, has once again managed to break its all-time record for concurrent users on PC, 11 years after its launch on Steam! The curious thing is that it achieves this just one month after setting its last record.
Valve's tactical shooter has more than 20 years of history, but that doesn't mean it's no longer relevant. The proof is that it recently surpassed its own record of simultaneous users, reaching an all-time high of 1.32 million players last month.
Now, Counter-Strike surpassed it again. According to SteamDB, 1,420,183 players logged on yesterday to achieve the new record. As if that wasn't enough, the game barely dipped below half a million concurrent users for the entire week.
In a tweet posted on the game's official Twitter account over the weekend, the team thanked its 1.4 million followers for "playing CS:GO concurrently today." In other words, they took the opportunity to thank their community for connecting to reach the record.
Before the new record set in February, the CS:GO concurrent user record stood at 1,308,963 players. That goal was reached 3 years ago amid the pandemic that represented a boom for online gaming. Thus, it speaks volumes about the state of the game that it has surpassed this record 2 times in such a small window of time.
Thank you to our 1.4M Twitter followers for organizing and playing CS:GO concurrently today.

Recent information mentions that Valve could be working on a new version of CS:GO, possibly called Counter-Strike 2. While nothing has been confirmed yet, a recent NVIDIA leak suggests that executable files with the names "cs2" and "csgo2" have been discovered, which could mean that a Beta is in the works and could be released later this month.
